In 1866, Nemesio Guillot returned to Cuba from the U.S. and brought with him a strange new game called " baseball." Twelve years later, the first of Cuba's legendary teams, Almendares and Habana, were formed. Cuba, the Liga de la Federacion franchise was a powerhouse in the 1940s.
